19 paid Webflow resources to help you learn the tool

January 11, 2024

Whether you're taking your first steps in the world of Webflow or you're a seasoned pro looking to enhance your skills, there's a course here that can help you get further in your Webflow journey. This article took me a while because not only do I want to highlight all the offerings out there but also try and rank these courses from beginner to advanced, so you can easily find the perfect match for your current level and aspirations. Alongside each course, you'll find a brief overview of what it entails and the cost associated (in dollars).

Thanks for all contributors to the thread that I put on Twitter too! Many useful suggestions there:

Before we dive in, it's worth noting that if you're just starting out with Webflow and are looking for free resources to get your feet wet, we've got you covered there too! I've previously written an article listing the 10 Best Free Resources to Learn Webflow. It's a great starting point for anyone new to Webflow, or even seasoned users who want to brush up on the basics without spending a dime.‍

Why invest in Webflow courses when there is so much great free content?

Investing in paid Webflow resources, rather than solely relying on free ones, can be a game-changer for your web design journey. Sure, the internet is a treasure trove of free resources, but here are some reasons I recommend paid courses:

• Paid courses offer structured learning paths, in-depth coverage of topics, and expert guidance that free resources often lack.

• Paid resources usually come with perks like one-on-one mentorship, access to exclusive communities, and timely updates in line with Webflow's newest features. So, while free resources are a good starting point, paid Webflow courses offer a comprehensive, up-to-date, and well-structured learning experience that can accelerate your mastery of Webflow.

• Paid Webflow resources that's worth mentioning is the accountability that comes with being part of a community. It's all too easy to start a course with enthusiasm, only to let it fall by the wayside when life gets busy. However, when you're part of a community, you're not just accountable to yourself. You're accountable to a group of like-minded individuals who are all on the same journey. This sense of community can provide the motivation needed to stick with the course, even when things get tough. So, purchasing a paid Webflow course doesn't just give you access to top-tier educational content—it also opens the door to a supportive community that can play a critical role in your learning journey. By the way, if you're more looking for community rather than educational info, I recommend checking out this article here 8 Free Webflow Communities To Join For New Webflowers

These 19 are in no particular order. Ok with that being said, let's dive in:

19 paid Webflow resources

1) The Webflow Masterclass 4.0 Pro - Flux Academy

Flux Academy

The amount of people that I know that started Webflow because of Ran Segall's Flux Academy. This resource is seriously impressive and for good reason. Flux Academy has a constantly improving course with new modules taught by various Webflow experts. Ran himself is an incredible teacher that has a knack for breaking down complex Webflow concepts into digestible, easy-to-understand lessons.

The academy has got a wide range of in-depth courses covering everything from basic Webflow design principles to advanced animation techniques. What sets Flux Academy apart is their commitment to practical learning. Every course is packed with real-world projects that help you apply what you’ve learned. No more learning in a vacuum! Plus, they foster a great community atmosphere as part of joining the academy where you can connect with fellow Webflow enthusiasts. It's not just about learning, it's about growing together as Webflowers.

2) Build Anything You Want Online - Glenn McWhinney

Build Anything You Want Online

On the landing page, Glenn McWhinney has written “Learn how to Build Anything Online with the WWX Stack (Webflow, Wized & Xano) using my 3 C's: Courses, Cloneables & Community.” Let me tell you - as someone that’s been in the beta of this program, I can tell you Glenn means it. It’s pretty wild that now, with the array of tools available to build with the power of Webflow front end, you can basically build Air BnB. Now this course should be taken by people that know how to use Webflow pretty proficiently in my opinion. The course is focussed on basically supercharging Webflow by teaching you how to build backend stuff to let Webflow do it’s magic on the front end. But if you’re looking to build web apps, there is no better course out there that I know of. Learn to take your Webflow skills to the next level with patient guru Glenn.

3) Happy Dev Flow - Ailin Tobin

Happy Dev Flow

This is one of the hidden gems in the world of paid Webflow resources. Built by Ailin Tobin, Happy Dev Flow aims to help you learn Webflow for the cost of Netflix wherever you are in the world. Essentially, Webflow learning on demand. He’s constantly adding new resources and he’s insanely knowledgeable. Now a little birdie told me that he’s teaming up with Matt Evans to create even more value from all sorts of entrepreneurial ideas. As co-host of the Visual Div podcast, this man is not only entertaining but knows his beans from his bacon when it comes to development. Before Webflow existed, this man was hard coding which means he looks at making fast, well-developed websites rather than just making it look pretty.

Cost: $9.84/monthly

Difficulty: Beginner - Advanced

4) Tricks Patreon - Timothy Ricks

Timothy Ricks on Patreon

If you're serious about mastering Webflow, consider investing in Timothy Ricks' Patreon. Timothy is a well-known figure in the Webflow community and for good reason. His free content is insane so just imagine the treasure trove of premium Webflow content. By becoming a patron, “Level up quickly with access to expert advice through our Discord. Join our two monthly meetups (Wednesday at 8pm central time). Project support is not included outside of meetups, but questions are welcomed anytime. Cost: $39 / month

Difficulty: Intermediate - Advanced

4) Portfolio Design with Figma Course - Andrea Jelic

Domestika's Portfolio Design with Figma Course

Now, this one's a gem! If you're looking to level up your self-promotion game, Domestika's course is a must. It walks you through the process of designing an eye-catching portfolio using Figma. Now you might think - “Wait, why would I want to learn figma to become a great Webflow dev?” Well the truth is that the better you know how to present yourself online, the better you will be able to attract work. I would argue if you’re starting out, creating a portfolio should be a priority to gather your earliest projects and direct people to when you reach to get work. This process starts by designing a portfolio in figma before building in Webflow. Also, it’s important to familiarise with building from designs in Figma so good to get accustomed with the tool I would say.

Cost: $10.07

Difficulty:Beginner

5) Website creation with Webflow - Jan Losert

Website Creation with Webflow: Build a Site without Code

Jan Losert ain’t no slouch. He’s built sites for companies like Petal and Tiny Capital. You’ve probably seen his YT vids so already know his teaching style but he’s cool, calm and collected. In this course, Jan teaches you to design a marketing site for any kind of business from scratch. It’s meant for beginners but is hands on and practical.

Cost: $10.07

Difficulty:Beginner

6) Finsweet Plus - Finsweet

Finsweet Plus

Finsweet Plus seems sick from exclusive content access as well as access to the Finsweet team and premium products. The educational aspect is similar to cohort based learning all in an informal setting - you get 3 sessions per week privately on Zoom dedicated to helping you grow your Webflow career. If you’re trying to grow a Webflow career and starting out, this type of offering would be invaluable

Cost: $199 annually or $59 quarterly

Difficulty:Beginner - Advanced

7) Webflow Mastery Course - Sam Harrison

Lighthouse Digital's Webflow Mastery Course

Learn how to do a full website build covering CMS, animations, layouts and integrations. Cost: $275

Difficulty: Beginner

8) Fast Forward Freelance - Grace Walker

(Not out yet but you just know it will be good) Fast Forward Freelance

Again, not strictly a Webflow course but I would argue if you want to learn Webflow, you will want to learn how to create work for yourself from your Webflow skillset. Grace is a killer designer and dev and has launched nearly 100 sites for clients. Grace’s mission with Fast Forward Freelance is “to give you a clear view of what the first year of independent work holds. 9) Create Award Winning Animation and Interaction Design In Webflow - Joseph Berry

Award Winning Animation

To stand out in the Webflow space, I would argue you need to find out what part of website designing and/or building interests you the most. For Joseph Berry, companies hire him for his attention to detail when it comes to animation in particular. As it says on the site, animation and interaction is a fundamental part in creating engaging and exciting experiences. In the course, learn the crucial techniques in creating advanced animations and interactions inside of Webflow.

Cost: $19.62

Difficulty: ‍Medium

10) Webflow 201 - Webbae

Webbae's Webflow Mastery Course

A lot of Webflowers,  myself included, actually have bad development practices. Since Webflow abstracts the code, you don’t see what you’re doing from a code perspective which allows you to build visually. Great! But, it means it often means your websites aren’t built as well as they could be - after all, super high performance and efficient websites are what you are trying to build for your clients so Keegan Leary gets in to the nitty gritty of what it really takes to launch a production-grade site with over 4 hours of no fluff content.

Difficulty: Beginner

16) Web Design Studio Accelerator - John Saunders

19) Webflow like a boss - Jo Mor

Webflow like a boss

Jo is funny. And talented. And a great teacher. Listen to this from the website: “This course is perfect for you if you already know Webflow, but would like to up your game, refine your skills, and create well structured websites with engaging interactions and complex layouts. Jo will help you understand some of Webflow’s subtle nuances, and with his insights, you’ll be equipped to experiment more and build your grand ideas.” Handy eh?

Cost: $11.99

Difficulty: Intermediate - Advanced

Conclusion

Warning: Remember that JUST learning through these (or other resources) is like educational pornography - it can be addictive and make you feel like you know what to do in real life but you actually don't. You need to actually apply what you learn as you learn it - try things out, see how they feel and remember that it will take a while to work out which Webflower you want to be.
